This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Design, execute, or assist in trend analysis.
• Conduct pricing, underwriting support, reserving, and forecasting for Specific and Aggregate Stop Loss as well as Level Funding.
• Perform or aid in forecasting activities.
• Assist with new business and renewal pricing decisions, which includes underwriting consultation and risk assessment.
• Develop or support pricing models and requests, including factors for benefit adjustments, fee schedule analysis, and new product pricing.
• Gather and analyze data for financial and utilization assessments, reporting, and monitoring, including Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) analysis.
• Collaborate with both internal and external clients to create innovative solutions and strategies, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks.
• Assist in the formulation of corporate strategies and business plans aimed at membership growth and financial viability.
• Facilitate meetings with business partners to provide clarity and understanding regarding actuarial analyses and outcomes.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Actuarial work and/or statistics is necessary.
• Progress towards obtaining an ASA designation is highly preferred.
• Experience with Level Funded products, medical Stop Loss, or Reinsurance products is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Stop Loss product features from both Actuarial and Underwriting perspectives is essential.
• Familiarity with the Reinsurance sector is required.
• Expert proficiency in Excel is mandatory.
• Experience with SQL, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, or other analytical/reporting tools is preferred.
• A solid working knowledge of data analysis and Actuarial principles is required.
• In-depth understanding of the healthcare industry is necessary.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required.
• Strong analytical thinking capabilities are essential.
• Proficient mathematical skills and abilities in statistical analysis are required.
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Candidates must reside in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, or Delaware.
