This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Operate and provide education within the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program.
• Coordinate CPE units and collaborate with chaplains to meet the spiritual care needs of patients, families, staff, and CPE students.
• Offer spiritual care and emotional support during times of illness, crisis, loss, and death.
• Foster team cohesion and promote effective relational dynamics within the chaplaincy team.
• Address performance issues of CPE students and implement disciplinary action plans as necessary.
• Facilitate communication between clinical leadership and the chaplaincy team.
• Engage in departmental strategic planning and contribute to mission goals.
• Provide professional development resources for chaplains and Spiritual Health Services.
• Develop programming, group seminars, and individual CPE sessions.
• Plan and implement CPE units in accordance with ACPE standards and Catholic healthcare directives.
• Recruit, schedule, and supervise both on-site and online CPE programs.
• Oversee the admissions process for CPE students.
• Lead the Professional Advisory Group and support accreditation, curriculum evaluation, financial viability, and program operations.
• Coordinate clinical placements and maintain site-specific handbooks.
• Conduct site visits as mandated by ACPE standards.
• Supervise student orientation, clinical work, development, scheduling, performance reviews, and clinical assignments.
• Mentor CPE students in partnership with staff chaplains.
• Direct marketing, advertising, and student recruitment for the CPE program.
• Prepare the annual CPE budget and provide Medicare reimbursement data to the Finance department.
• Participate in planning, KPI reporting, daily reports, and committee activities.
• Maintain chaplain and ACPE certification through ongoing education.
• Perform Chaplain III functions as necessary.
• Execute other assigned duties.
• ACPE Certified Educator or Certified Educator Candidate (mandatory).
• Documentation of faith community endorsement from official representative(s), indicating good standing within the candidate’s faith/spiritual tradition (mandatory).
• Master’s degree in Theology or Pastoral Studies (mandatory).
• A minimum of four years of progressive experience as a Chaplain (mandatory).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the Ethical and Religious Directives of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
• Ability to maintain certification as a chaplain and ACPE Certified Educator.
• Capacity to provide pastoral support that respects patients’ cultures, values, and belief systems.
• Proficiency in pastoral care, pastoral counseling, spiritual care, crisis counseling, crisis intervention, theological reflection, healthcare ethics, and interfaith dialogue.
• Strong leadership, planning, organization, facilitation, presentation, and administrative skills.
• Competence in assessing job performance, managing operations, coordinating schedules, and leading teams.
• Willingness to travel by car to off-site locations occasionally.
• Ability to perform shift work and meet defined physical requirements and hazard conditions.
