This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Reach out to insurance companies to inquire about the status of outstanding claims.
• Process and pursue appeals with insurance providers.
• Resubmit claims as necessary.
• Handle daily correspondence.
• Maintain a fundamental level of proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
• Review adjustment requests and carry them out when suitable.
• Address manual accounts-receivable follow-up tasks.
• Manage outstanding accounts receivable from designated work queues.
• Achieve departmental productivity benchmarks.
• Keep an accuracy rating of at least 97% on audited accounts.
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards.
• Cultivate specialized knowledge across various workflows and payers.
• Recognize and report trends to leadership.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of professional or healthcare experience is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, reimbursements, and adjustments percentages are necessary.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
• Advanced understanding of insurance processing, regulations, laws, and EOBs is necessary.
• Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines is required.
• High-accuracy data entry skills are essential.
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes is needed.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills are required.
• Ability to gather and report information effectively.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with staff, physicians, and external clients.
• Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently with limited supervision.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented individuals are preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams is required.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements, including occasional standing/walking, frequent sitting and hand/finger movements, along with verbal and written communication.
• Eligibility for quarterly bonuses (not guaranteed; based on company and individual performance).
