Accounting Manager – Revenue & AR Reserves

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, coach, and cultivate a team of Senior Accountants focused on credit loss/allowance reserves, customer disputes/litigation/insolvency reserves, and accounts receivable (AR) accounting.

• Review and authorize account reconciliations, journal entries, reserve calculations, and accompanying documentation.

• Oversee expected credit loss estimates and reserve activities in accordance with ASC 326.

• Implement ASC 606 guidelines for credit memos, billing discrepancies, and customer disputes.

• Supervise the accounting processes for both trade and non-trade AR and related accounts, including unapplied cash.

• Enhance reserve methodologies by analyzing macroeconomic conditions and customer activity trends.

• Manage monthly close tasks across reserve, AR accounting, reconciliation, and reporting functions.

• Address complex and nuanced accounting challenges.

• Collaborate with Finance and senior leadership to assess P&L and forecast implications of accounting estimates.

• Present reserve trends and accounting insights to senior leadership.

• Apply technical accounting principles to intricate transactions.

• Engage with internal and external auditors and fulfill audit requests.

• Spearhead process improvement initiatives.

• Keep abreast of current knowledge regarding GAAP, ASC 326, ASC 606, SEC regulations, and related requirements.

• Manage the performance, development, and career progression of direct reports.

• Undertake special projects and conduct ad hoc analyses.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline – or an equivalent qualification (Required).

• 7-10 years of pertinent work experience (Required).

• Accounting experience covering AR/credit reserves, reconciliations, and/or public accounting (Required).

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulatory standards, ASC 326 (CECL), ASC 606 methodology, and internal controls/SOX requirements.

• Strong understanding and experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.

• Capability to assess macroeconomic trends and business/customer activities for reserving methodology and estimates.

• Ability to convert technical accounting guidelines into actionable business decisions for complex transactions.

• Comfortable collaborating with Finance, Sales, and Legal leadership.

• Awareness of healthcare IT industry trends, including EHR, RCM, and payer interface/connectivity solutions.

• Proficient in managing reserve and AR complexities for a high-volume customer base.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada.

• Preferred: Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA.

• Preferred: Certified Public Accountant.

• Preferred: Over 2 years of experience in the SaaS industry.

• Preferred: Familiarity with ASC 326 reserve methodology, forecasting, complex transactions, SQL/Power Query, revenue billing systems, ERP systems, and SaaS or healthcare IT accounting.
