Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take charge of EnergyHub's month-end and quarter-end closing processes, which includes journal entries, account reconciliations, and the preparation of supporting schedules.

• Assess and enhance the closing procedure by creating scalable workflows, documentation, and controls.

• Act as the escalation point for intricate or judgment-based accounting issues, including revenue recognition according to ASC 606.

• Collaborate with Alarm.com corporate accounting as the main liaison for EnergyHub's closing activities.

• Interpret corporate accounting requirements for the EnergyHub team.

• Work alongside operations, customer success, and FP&A teams to offer accounting guidance and insights.

• Play a significant role in EnergyHub's multi-year ERP migration project.

• Undertake additional projects as business needs develop.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

• Active CPA license.

• Over 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and closing experience in a public company setting.

• In-depth, practical knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

• Proven ability to identify process gaps and devise scalable solutions.

• Strong project management, organizational, and time management capabilities.

• Experience in redesigning and implementing a closing process and/or developing management reporting packages from scratch (desirable).

• Background in SaaS, software, energy, or technology sectors (desirable).

• Familiarity with multi-entity consolidation or a subsidiary/parent company reporting framework (desirable).

• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) (desirable).
