This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Lead the accounting close process, reconciliation governance, and the financial control framework for the Atlas loan-sale portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with month-end close SLAs by the third working day through the provision of Atlas accounting deliverables.
• Supervise interest accrual adjustments, cancellations, repurchases, late fees, impairments/provisions, claims, and settlement reconciliations.
• Develop internal control and documentation frameworks that encompass data accuracy, ownership tagging, retroactive event management, and repeatable workpapers.
• Define and enforce methodologies for a single source of truth regarding servicing fees, ongoing statements, and portfolio performance.
• Spearhead an automation strategy for matching, rollforwards, exception management, and approvals in collaboration with Engineering, Data Platform, and FinSyst teams.
• Establish daily and weekly exception review processes and escalation frameworks across Capital Markets Ops, Data, and Engineering.
• Address and resolve recurring root-cause issues impacting the general ledger.
• Mentor and enhance the skills of Accounting Specialists in reconciliation techniques, prioritization, and analytical rigor.
• Engage in interviews, business cases, and in-depth assessments during the hiring process.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting and credit/structured finance (MUST HAVE).
• Profound knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9, including derecognition and loan sale mechanics.
• Strong experience in loan/receivable accounting, settlement processes, and portfolio separation within intricate financing or servicing frameworks.
• Background in creating documentation, threshold monitoring, approval workflows, and evidence retention controls.
• Proven ability to conduct root-cause analyses with clear accountability and target resolution dates.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across Capital Markets, Engineering, FinSyst, and external institutional partners.
• Experience in mentoring Accounting Specialists in reconciliation, prioritization, and analytical precision.
• High level of analytical rigor and data fluency.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills.
• Capability to analyze and interpret large, complex loan-level datasets.
• Ability to convert business and accounting requirements into functional technical specifications for Data and Engineering teams.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or transitions within regulated financial institutions (PREFERRED).
• Familiarity with regulated banking environments or institutional loan sales (Forward Flow / ABS) (PREFERRED).
• Proficiency in SQL or experience with automated reconciliation systems and modern ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, or FinSyst internal engines (PREFERRED).
