This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Accurately and promptly enter vendor invoices into Procurify, ensuring proper coding by vendor, entity, department, and general ledger account.
• Direct invoices to the relevant managers for review and approval, while following up on turnaround times.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and approvals, escalating any delays that impact month-end closing or vendor payment terms.
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries, which include amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation and amortization for fixed and intangible assets, as well as intercompany entries.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations.
• Maintain documentation and supporting schedules for recurring journal entries, in compliance with internal controls and audit standards.
• Help reconcile sub-ledger activity with the general ledger.
• Address internal inquiries concerning invoice status, coding, and approval routing.
• Aid in ad hoc data entry, filing, and month-end closing activities.
• Identify opportunities to enhance data entry precision and efficiency within Procurify and other accounting systems.
• 2-5 years of experience in an accounting department, specifically in data entry and transaction processing.
• Fundamental understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
• Familiarity with accounting and/or procurement software; experience with Procurify and NetSuite is considered a plus.
• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling large volumes of transactions.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage competing deadlines related to month-end closing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning new accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with managers and vendors.
• Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote work setting.
