Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Execute professional accounting tasks related to general accounting functions.

• Reconcile designated balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve them swiftly.

• Prepare and execute accounting journal entries within set deadlines.

• Generate flux comments for both income statement and balance sheet accounts.

• Utilize the general ledger system and reporting tools to produce trial balances and account details.

• Cultivate an understanding of accounting processes and controls.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries along with account reconciliations.

• Compile financial data and assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.

• Provide support to management with ad hoc requests.

• Collaborate with internal teams to uphold processes and controls.

• Engage in annual, quarterly, and monthly processes with SOX and internal audit teams.

• Ensure adherence to internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, virtual environment that requires self-motivation and adaptability.

• Previous experience with NetSuite and FloQast is advantageous.

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with US-based business teams.

• Capability to work within core US business hours and time zone requirements - Eastern Standard Time (EST).

• Familiarity with Fixed Assets, Cash, Accruals, Lease accounting, Payroll accounting, Accounts Payable, Intercompany Accounting, Prepaids, Capitalized Software, and debt.

• Experience working with global and/or US-based business teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• A quiet workspace along with an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
