This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Generate profitable sales within a designated territory by engaging with existing clients and seeking out new accounts.
• Employ a consultative selling technique to foster long-lasting relationships with clients.
• Enhance Univar Solutions’ presence within accounts through consultative selling practices.
• Identify potential new customers, conduct sales calls, and broaden the territory.
• Maintain an accurate and current overview of the sales pipeline and territory performance.
• Expand the territory size in alignment with Univar Solutions’ strategic goals.
• Retain clients and boost their satisfaction levels.
• Offer customer support and consulting services.
• Set pricing and service standards and manage customer quotes accordingly.
• Collaborate with local teams, including Purchasing and Operations, to ensure inventory availability and customer satisfaction.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and customer contacts to guarantee efficient service delivery.
• Act as the main point of contact for international chemical distribution opportunities.
• Develop customer relationships through sales interactions and relevant communications.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data in SFDC.
• Show a commitment to safety in all operations.
• Market APIs, solvents, and excipients to the pharmaceutical sector in Quebec.
• Maintain customer relationships, manage the opportunity pipeline, set pricing and service levels, and coordinate with Purchasing and Operations.
• Contribute to customer retention, satisfaction, consulting services, and international chemical distribution opportunities.
• A minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a sales role with a demonstrated history of success.
• At least 3+ years of sales experience in the Pharmaceutical Ingredients (raw chemicals) sector.
• Experience with APIs and excipients is highly regarded.
• Background in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or chemical industry sales is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; a degree in Technical Science or Chemistry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with longer sales cycles or cyclical projects.
• Proven ability to develop and sustain a vast network of contacts.
• Demonstrated capability as an effective leader and team collaborator.
• A competitive, results-oriented mindset.
• Bilingual proficiency is essential; must be fluent in both English and French.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent computer proficiency, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce.com, and Tableau.
• Ability to manage time and resources efficiently.
• Strong business understanding regarding manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemical products and services.
• Active listening and problem-solving capabilities to identify needs, address objections, and finalize sales.
