This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Cultivate and nurture customer relationships while generating new business opportunities.
• Travel frequently to meet with customers and attend industry trade shows.
• Assess account possibilities and engage with key decision makers.
• Gain an understanding of customer budgets, project priorities, resource allocation, and timelines.
• Formulate strategies, evaluate effectiveness, and adjust with customers to meet growth objectives.
• Expand existing accounts, create new business ventures, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with the Sales Director on sales strategies, inventory management, invoicing, forecasting, special pricing, and volume discounts.
• Utilize CRM software to oversee the sales pipeline and manage the complete customer lifecycle.
• Keep up with professional and technical knowledge through publications, networking, and professional organizations.
• Provide Michelman with insights on market trends, competitive products, and pricing dynamics.
• Execute other related duties as assigned.
• A bachelor’s degree in a scientific field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science is preferred but not mandatory.
• Over 5 years of experience in specialty chemical sales.
• Comprehensive understanding of formulated coating performance requirements, surface modification technologies, and application methods.
• Experience in web-based converting processes.
• Strong market knowledge and industry connections.
• Familiarity with a structured sales process, such as Miller-Heiman.
• Experience utilizing a Value Pricing strategy.
• Proficiency with SalesForce, sales forecasting tools, Concur, UKG, PowerBI, and Microsoft applications.
• Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to negotiate effectively and influence stakeholders.
• Capability to develop and implement sales plans that align with business objectives.
• Understanding of market trends, customer requirements, and product offerings.
• Ability to establish and cultivate client relationships.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% by car or air.
• Capability to perform duties at various locations, including remote industrial sites, chemical facilities, and customer centers.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for tobacco products.
