This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Propel growth in the territory by establishing connections with new retail partners and enhancing current accounts to meet sales and profit targets.
• Oversee the complete sales cycle, which encompasses prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, product demonstrations, negotiations, closing deals, and account management.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of products and offer solutions that address customer challenges.
• Create and implement annual business plans for the territory, including sales forecasts, budget oversight, and growth strategies.
• Leverage lead generation initiatives, research trials, and demonstrations to enhance market awareness and engage customers.
• Organize and prioritize sales activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to meet territory objectives.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Service, R&D, and other internal teams to exchange market insights and support customer success.
• Stay informed about EPA and state regulatory requirements pertinent to the territory.
• Professionally represent Verdesian and foster relationships that strengthen the company’s image.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• At least 5 years of professional sales experience in the agriculture sector.
• Demonstrated success in a business-to-business sales context.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
• Capability to manage territory plans, sales forecasts, and budgets effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in selling inoculants, fertilizer enhancers, micronutrients, or similar agricultural products is preferred.
• Familiarity with biological technologies and their applications in agriculture is preferred.
• Background in lead generation and customer qualification strategies is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with agricultural retailers, Certified Crop Advisors, independent crop consultants, and other industry stakeholders is preferred.
• Ability to cultivate relationships within academic and research communities is preferred.
• A strong passion for nutrient use efficiency and sustainable agricultural practices.
• Capacity to develop deep, long-lasting customer relationships.
• Competence in identifying customer needs and conveying product value effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
