This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +5 more states.
• Retain and enhance revenue within a designated territory or account portfolio.
• Act as the main commercial liaison for assigned customer accounts.
• Establish, nurture, and cultivate enduring customer relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements in accordance with company policies.
• Generate new business opportunities with existing clients and promote product adoption.
• Identify, assess, and pursue new customer accounts within the assigned area.
• Create sales forecasts and monitor pipeline, quarterly sales outcomes, and yearly forecasts.
• Address customer inquiries and escalations in collaboration with Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory teams.
• Maintain precise records of customers, opportunities, and activities in the CRM system.
• Conduct face-to-face sales meetings at customer and prospect sites.
• Represent Custom Flavors at trade shows and industry events.
• Keep a working knowledge of products, capabilities, and applications in food, beverage, and supplements.
• Relay customer project requirements to R&D, Applications Lab, and internal teams.
• Oversee projects from sample submission through customer evaluation and commercialization.
• Ensure alignment between customer commitments regarding specifications, pricing, and lead times with company capabilities and policies.
• Report directly to the President.
• Collaborate with R&D and Applications teams in San Clemente to launch customer products.
• Candidates must reside within the assigned territory: Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, or Wyoming.
• Preference given to candidates from the Salt Lake City area.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience in specialty food ingredients, flavors, or a related food or beverage ingredient sector.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, management, vendors, and customers.
• Capacity to manage multiple accounts, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Familiarity with relevant standard operating procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding negotiation and presentation skills.
• Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to safeguard confidential company and customer information.
• Understanding of flavor applications alongside technical, regulatory, and cost factors in customer product development.
• Capability to work independently and manage an assigned territory with minimal oversight.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, including overnight and out-of-state trips.
• A valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record required for company travel.
• Ability to travel by air and automobile.
• Capability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices when necessary.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Preferred: Experience with CRM and ERP systems like HubSpot or Salesforce.
• Preferred: Established connections with food, beverage, or supplement manufacturers.
• Ability to work remotely from a home office located within or near the assigned territory.

• Full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule.
