This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Initiate and grow the Verano brand presence in the Maryland market.
• Acquire, nurture, and oversee retail partnerships at both medical and recreational dispensaries across Maryland.
• Enhance the company’s market presence by establishing and sustaining vital customer relationships.
• Effectively and creatively promote company brands within designated authority.
• Develop a territory strategy that aligns with Verano’s overarching goals and the needs of accounts.
• Identify and evaluate prospects, secure new accounts, and increase spending share within existing accounts.
• Cultivate strategic connections with retail buyers and key decision-makers in purchasing.
• Schedule meetings, conduct face-to-face visits, send emails, and engage in cold calling.
• Collect market insights regarding product preferences and quality perceptions.
• Track competitors, conduct market research, analyze sales trends, and respond to account inquiries.
• Present new and current products while utilizing marketing materials in assigned retail locations.
• Train accounts using marketing resources, on-site visits, and educational demonstrations.
• Maintain organized CRM records diligently.
• Provide updates on market conditions and sales performance to management.
• Collaborate with operational partners on packaging, processing, training, and social media initiatives.
• Address customer inquiries and needs to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
• Adhere to company policies and state regulations.
• Required cannabis wholesale sales experience, showcasing a successful history of selling branded cannabis products to dispensaries and building relationships with retail buyers and purchasing decision-makers.
• Deep knowledge of the Maryland cannabis landscape, including retail dynamics, competitive factors, and regulatory frameworks.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is mandatory.
• Must have access to a dependable vehicle and reliable transportation to facilitate regular travel within the assigned territory.
• Proven B2B sales experience characterized by a consultative approach and the ability to identify growth opportunities through solution-driven selling.
• Experience managing accounts across a statewide territory is essential.
• Capability to provide training to employees and large groups.
• Familiarity with the medicinal properties of cannabis and the associated scientific principles.
• Experience with highly regulated products within complex supply chains.
• Self-motivated and organized, exhibiting a keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Significant statewide travel is required, with 4–5 days per week spent on the road.
• Proven ability to negotiate deals and achieve or surpass sales targets.
• Familiarity with CRM systems is necessary.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to register as an agent with the state's cannabis commissions.
