
YouthLine Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• Oversee YouthLine training and educational initiatives across Hawaii
• Conduct evidence-based suicide prevention training sessions, including ASIST, safeTALK, QPR, and other sanctioned programs
• Present educational content and youth mental health programs to schools, community organizations, and various audiences
• Train YouthLine volunteers in Maui and/or surrounding islands
• Tailor training materials and facilitation techniques to suit diverse participants and communities
• Ensure instructor certifications are maintained and adhere to evidence-based training protocols
• Act as a subject matter expert on youth mental health, suicide prevention, help-seeking behaviors, and YouthLine services
• Organize statewide training schedules, registrations, materials, logistics, calendars, and records
• Monitor attendance, completions, certifications, and related data
• Gather and evaluate feedback from participants for quality enhancement
• Work in collaboration with the YouthLine Portland team for reporting purposes
• Coordinate trainers and training materials
• Revise training content and implement improvements to systems
• Establish connections with schools, organizations that serve youth, healthcare providers, community groups, and other stakeholders in Hawaii
• Advocate for training opportunities, YouthLine services, and local mental health resources
• Represent YouthLine at meetings, conferences, community gatherings, and collaborative projects
• Assist in the development, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation of YouthLine’s Near Peer programming
• Provide support and resources to Near Peer participants and partner organizations
• Maintain program documentation and reporting records
• Track participation, outcomes, and performance metrics
• Prepare reports and program updates for leadership and funding agencies
• Aid in grant-related data gathering and reporting
• Participate in program and team meetings as well as collaborative planning sessions
• Perform additional duties as required
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven experience in facilitating training sessions, workshops, presentations, or educational programming
• Experience in managing projects, training sessions, events, or other complex activities involving multiple stakeholders
• Exceptional public speaking, presentation, and facilitation abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Capacity to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple responsibilities at once
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships with diverse groups
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while navigating changing priorities and challenging situations
• Willingness to travel throughout Hawaii, including occasional evening, weekend, and overnight trips as required
• All employees must have approval to work from the Oregon Department of Human Services’ Background Check Unit
• Preferred: experience working with youth, educational institutions, youth-serving organizations, or behavioral health programs
• Preferred: background in suicide prevention, crisis intervention, mental health advocacy, or related fields
• Preferred: certification or experience in delivering evidence-based trainings such as ASIST, safeTALK, QPR, Youth Mental Health First Aid, or similar programs
• Preferred: experience offering coaching or consultancy to community partners
• Preferred: involvement in statewide initiatives and community engagement efforts
• Preferred: understanding of Hawaii's communities, cultures, and youth-serving systems
• Preferred: experience working with diverse, underserved, rural, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, or historically marginalized populations
