Workflow and Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within both existing and potential strategic accounts.

• Engage with customers to comprehend their laboratory workflows, automation challenges, and future operational goals.

• Propose workflow and automation solutions aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, scalability, and scientific results.

• Support expansion initiatives across instrumentation, consumables, automation platforms, and related offerings.

• Collaborate with commercial sales teams throughout the sales cycle.

• Provide expert knowledge during customer meetings, technical discussions, workshops, and executive presentations.

• Assist in designing solutions and assessing workflows.

• Support evaluation programs, technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept initiatives, and planning for implementation.

• Act as a liaison between customers and business unit teams.

• Gather customer feedback, monitor emerging workflow trends, and identify unmet market needs.

• Work alongside product management, marketing, R&D, and engineering teams to shape product roadmaps and future advancements.

• Advocate for customer needs and market opportunities to drive the development of next-generation automation solutions.

• Keep abreast of emerging life science technologies, laboratory automation trends, and competitive solutions.

• Participate in industry conferences, customer workshops, and scientific meetings.

• Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, positioning Azenta as a reliable partner in optimizing laboratory workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in life science research, laboratory operations, laboratory automation, scientific instrumentation, or similar technical roles.

• Practical experience in research, biopharma, biotechnology, academic, or clinical laboratory settings.

• Proven understanding of laboratory workflows and automation technologies.

• Strong technical and scientific foundation with the capability to comprehend and articulate complex workflow solutions.

• Experience in supporting research programs, laboratory operations, or automation projects.

• Ability to effectively engage with scientists, laboratory managers, operational leaders, and executive stakeholders.

• Excellent presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions with commercial, technical, and product development teams.

• Preferred: experience with laboratory automation systems, robotic platforms, sample management solutions, biobanking technologies, or related life science tools.

• Preferred: experience in supporting technical sales, business development, applications, product management, or customer success roles.

• Preferred: understanding of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cell and gene therapy, biorepository, or translational research workflows.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50% domestically and internationally as required.
