This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee several teams of examiners, product line examiners, and/or at least seven colleagues in technical operations.

• Track colleagues' workloads and individual claim activities.

• Deliver training and provide technical/jurisdictional guidance on claims adjudication reports.

• Identify and inform management about trends, problems, issues, and suggested actions.

• Update management on new procedures and ideas for continuous process improvement.

• Coordinate office projects in collaboration with management.

• Compile, review, and analyze management reports, taking appropriate actions as needed.

• Conduct quality reviews on claims to ensure compliance with audit, service contract, and quality standards.

• Serve as the second level of appeal for client and claimant issues, implementing final resolutions.

• Assess reserves on high-cost claims and those exceeding examiner authority.

• Monitor third-party, litigated, serious vocational rehabilitation, questionable, and sensitive claims.

• Maintain client contact, fostering professional relationships, making claim-status recommendations, and providing written claim summaries.

• Ensure that direct reports are properly licensed in the serviced jurisdictions.

• Verify that claims files are accurately coded and sufficiently documented.

• Administer personnel policies and staffing standards.

• Conduct interviews, hire staff, create performance development plans, and engage in performance discussions.

• Offer support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to team members.

• Contribute to organizational quality programs.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Licenses as necessary.

• Professional certifications relevant to the line of business are preferred.

• A minimum of six (6) years of claims experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• At least two (2) years of experience in claims supervision is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of claims management processes and procedures across multiple product lines.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong leadership, management, and motivational abilities.

• Analytical and interpretive skills.

• Excellent organizational capabilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Proficient negotiation skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

• Capability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
