This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist employees during periods of absence due to work-related injuries.
• Assess barriers to a swift return to work.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
• Facilitate the return to work process or create alternative plans.
• Meet with clients to discuss workplace injuries.
• Oversee workplace injury claims and work to reduce time-loss and claim expenses through early intervention and proactive service coordination.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients, injured employees, and provincial Workers’ Compensation Boards.
• Act as a liaison with provincial Workers’ Compensation Boards.
• Review claim files thoroughly.
• Interpret provincial workers’ compensation laws, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare injury reports, identify appeal issues, and draft objection letters.
• Coordinate case management tasks, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of return-to-work and rehabilitation plans.
• Facilitate third-party assessments, such as functional capacity evaluations and independent medical examinations.
• Previous experience in managing workers’ compensation claims is advantageous.
• Familiarity with workers’ compensation laws, policies, procedures, and workplace health and safety regulations is beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Educational background in a related field, such as human resources, health and safety, or possession of an insurance certificate/designation is a plus.
• Extensive claims management experience may be considered in lieu of the specified qualifications.
• A paralegal license is mandatory.
• Must possess work authorization in Canada that does not currently or will not in the future require visa sponsorship.
• Successful completion of a background check, as relevant to the role.
• Capability to participate in video interviews; adherence to a camera-on culture.
• May require occasional travel to a physical office location.
