WordPress Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Develop, customize, and manage WordPress websites, including bespoke themes and plugins.

• Convert design mockups from Figma or Adobe XD into precise, responsive WordPress applications.

• Configure and modify WordPress plugins such as WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields, Elementor, and Yoast.

• Enhance website performance, focusing on aspects like page speed, Core Web Vitals, caching, and image optimization.

• Implement on-page SEO best practices in collaboration with SEO experts.

• Ensure website security by following best practices, managing plugins, and performing regular updates.

• Oversee site migrations, backups, and hosting configurations.

• Set up and tailor WooCommerce stores, including product pages, checkout processes, and payment integrations.

• Diagnose and resolve bugs, errors, and compatibility issues.

• Maintain documentation for custom development tasks and offer technical support to content editors.

• Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and clients to provide scalable, fast, and SEO-optimized WordPress solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional experience in WordPress development.

• Proficient in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for WordPress projects.

• Experience creating custom themes and plugins from scratch or via child themes.

• Strong grasp of WordPress core architecture, as well as hooks, filters, and the WP REST API.

• Familiarity with performance optimization techniques and best practices for page speed.

• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and deployment processes.

• Understanding of website security best practices within the WordPress framework.

• Experience with WooCommerce development and eCommerce customization.

• Familiarity with headless WordPress implementations (REST API, GraphQL, WPGraphQL).

• Experience using page builders (such as Elementor, Beaver Builder, or Divi) and awareness of their limitations.

• Knowledge of hosting environments (like WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudways, or similar managed WordPress hosts).

• Basic knowledge of SEO and experience collaborating with SEO specialists.

• Experience with Gutenberg block development.
