This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, customize, and manage WordPress websites, including the creation of bespoke themes and plugins.

• Transform Figma and Adobe XD design prototypes into pixel-perfect, responsive WordPress applications.

• Configure and personalize WordPress plugins such as WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields, Elementor, and Yoast.

• Enhance website performance, focusing on aspects like page speed, Core Web Vitals, caching, and image optimization.

• Implement on-page SEO best practices in collaboration with SEO professionals.

• Safeguard website security through best practices, plugin oversight, and routine updates.

• Oversee site migrations, backups, and hosting setups.

• Establish and customize WooCommerce stores, including product pages, checkout processes, and payment integrations.

• Diagnose and resolve bugs, errors, and compatibility challenges.

• Maintain documentation for custom development tasks and offer technical assistance to content editors.

• Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and clients to provide scalable, fast, and SEO-optimized WordPress solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development.

• Expertise in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript relevant to WordPress development.

• Proven experience in building custom themes and plugins from the ground up or through child themes.

• In-depth knowledge of WordPress core architecture, hooks, filters, and the WP REST API.

• Background in performance optimization and best practices for page speed.

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and deployment processes.

• Understanding of website security best practices within the WordPress framework.

• Experience in WooCommerce development and eCommerce customization.

• Familiarity with headless WordPress setups (REST API, GraphQL, WPGraphQL).

• Experience with page builders (Elementor, Beaver Builder, or Divi) and awareness of their limitations.

• Knowledge of hosting platforms (WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudways, or similar managed WordPress hosts).

• Basic knowledge of SEO principles and experience collaborating with SEO experts.

• Experience in Gutenberg block development.
