Wiring Diagnostics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Ensure the reliability and availability of Zoox's public vehicles by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving electrical, electronic, and network failures.

• Minimize fleet downtime, enhance safety, and optimize system performance through root cause analysis (RCA) and the implementation of corrective solutions.

• Serve as the final escalation point for electrical, electronic, and network issues in vehicles.

• Utilize CAN tools and advanced equipment to diagnose failures.

• Analyze log data to pinpoint failures at the system level.

• Document standardized diagnostic procedures.

• Lead cross-functional investigations for systemic or high-severity failures.

• Implement temporary containment actions and permanent solutions.

• Present findings to engineering teams to improve design.

• Maintain detailed documentation and track the effectiveness of solutions.

• Work directly with technicians to guide complex repairs.

• Translate complex engineering concepts into accessible language for technicians.

• Gather feedback from technicians to enhance design and diagnostic software.

• Train technicians in the use of CAN tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and safety protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with CAN tools: advanced use of Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, or PCAN for monitoring traffic, injecting signals, and diagnosing network health.

• Ability to interpret vehicle logs and reconstruct failure events.

• Skill in reading and understanding complex wiring diagrams.

• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and bench tools.

• Knowledge of standard wiring harness repair processes and ability to demonstrate and train technicians.

• Practical application of RCA methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis.
