This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist with surface transportation projects in California as part of AECOM’s Natural Resources team.

• Carry out biological compliance monitoring during ongoing construction activities.

• Conduct surveys for special-status wildlife and nesting birds.

• Compile technical reports that document findings from surveys and monitoring activities.

• Create biological technical reports and prepare permit application packages as required.

• Foster relationships with AECOM, clients, and construction personnel.

• Organize project documentation and monitor project timelines.

• Execute impact assessments for biological and aquatic resources.

• Perform technical writing, desktop reports, assessments, and natural resource field surveys.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related field in environmental science.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience in biological surveys and monitoring within California.

• Possession of a valid US Driver's License and completion of pre-employment driving record verification.

• Capability to travel independently.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Familiarity with common and special-status wildlife species in California.

• Experience in surveying and monitoring special-status and protected species in Central California.

• Skilled in technical writing.

• Ability to identify plant species specific to the Central Coast of California.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Competence in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• A positive attitude and adaptability to shifting priorities.
