Wildlife Biologist – On-Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist with surface transportation projects in California for transportation clients.

• Perform biological compliance monitoring during ongoing construction activities.

• Conduct surveys for special-status wildlife and nesting bird populations.

• Create technical reports that document findings from surveys and monitoring activities.

• Develop biological technical reports and assemble permit application packages.

• Carry out impact analyses for biological and aquatic resources.

• Engage in technical writing, including desktop reports and assessments.

• Organize project documentation and monitor project timelines.

• Foster relationships with AECOM, clients, and construction staff.

• Travel independently as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, or a related field in environmental science.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education in biological surveys and monitoring within California.

• A valid US Driver's License and verification of pre-employment driving record are required.

• Ability to travel independently is necessary.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Familiarity with common and special-status wildlife species found in California.

• Experience in surveying and monitoring special-status and protected species in Central California.

• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation.

• Proficient in identifying plants native to Central Coast California.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• A positive attitude and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
