Wildlife Biologist – Field Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform biological compliance monitoring during ongoing construction initiatives

• Conduct surveys for special-status wildlife and nesting bird populations

• Compile technical reports that document findings from surveys and monitoring activities

• Prepare biological technical reports and permit application packages as necessary

• Foster strong relationships with AECOM, clients, and construction teams

• Organize project documentation and monitor project timelines

• Provide support for California surface transportation projects and clients in the transportation sector

• Travel independently to various project locations

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related environmental science discipline

• Two years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in experience and/or education related to biological surveys and monitoring within California

• A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

• Capability to travel independently

• US Citizenship is required

• Familiarity with common and special-status wildlife species in California

• Experience in surveying and monitoring special-status and protected species in Central California

• Proven proficiency in technical writing

• Skills in plant identification specific to the Central Coast of California

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

• Positive attitude and adaptability to shifting priorities
