This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Assist AECOM’s Environmental Planning & Permitting Practice as a Wetland Scientist.

• Conduct field-based jurisdictional wetland delineations using three parameters.

• Assess wetland field data effectively.

• Prepare comprehensive technical reports.

• Implement wetlands regulations throughout New England.

• Provide support for energy, federal and state, and industrial projects.

• Contribute to wildlife surveys, fishery surveys, and on-water initiatives.

• Engage in local travel for fieldwork.

• Participate in in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS in Biology, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in education.

• Valid Driver’s License is required.

• Must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

• Experience in wetland delineation is necessary.

• Expertise in field-based three-parameter jurisdictional wetland delineation, covering hydrophytes, hydric soils, and hydrology.

• Proven experience in data evaluations.

• Background in technical report writing is essential.

• Familiarity with wetlands regulations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, or New Hampshire is preferred.

• US citizenship is required.

• Experience with environmental permitting, including USACE/MAWPA, MEPA, and/or other New England environmental regulations is advantageous.

• A Master's degree in Biology, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or a related field is desired.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.

• Interest and availability to assist with wildlife surveys, fishery surveys, and on-water programs is desirable.

• Local field travel is mandatory.

• Relocation assistance is not available.
