Web Extension Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, test, debug, deliver, and sustain production software systems for both new and existing product functionalities.

• Enhance the filling and saving experience of 1Password’s password manager along with its unified sign-in features.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, cross-functional teams, stakeholders, colleagues, and the open-source community.

• Articulate technical requirements and resolve technical challenges in scalable and practical manners.

• Guide junior and new team members through technical mentorship, knowledge sharing, and pair programming.

• Engage in planning by identifying, breaking down, estimating, and organizing major tasks.

• Develop comprehensive tests throughout the software development life cycle.

• Review code to ensure quality, share insights, and facilitate constructive feedback.

• Create and review documentation regarding coding processes.

• Remain updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in development.

• Take part in rotational on-call duties to ensure continuous support and address emergencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in software development.

• Expertise in TypeScript and React.

• Familiarity with software development best practices and coding standards.

• Proven ability to tackle complex issues and suggest effective solutions.

• Experience working collaboratively with teams and conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong interest in testing methodologies and debugging strategies.

• Must reside in and be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.

• No work authorization, relocation assistance, or visa sponsorship/transferring will be provided.

• Willingness to engage in rotational on-call responsibilities.

• Successful candidates must undergo a background check.

• Bonus: experience in developing browser extensions for Chromium, Firefox, and/or Safari.

• Bonus: familiarity with Rust, Go, or similar programming languages.

• Bonus: experience with Web APIs such as DOM features, Navigation API, and IndexedDB API.
