Web Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, modernize, and maintain SharePoint, internet, and intranet websites that support NTSP program operations and meet the needs of VA stakeholders.

• Perform thorough assessments of websites.

• Create management plans, design templates, and visual mockups aimed at site development and ongoing enhancement.

• Establish and manage website user groups along with access permissions.

• Ensure that role-based controls and governance are in compliance with VA security policies.

• Execute website coding and prepare digital content for publication.

• Adhere to Section 508 accessibility standards, the VA Style Guide, and requirements for copyright and release documentation.

• Track and report on website performance with respect to accessibility, quality assurance, and SEO metrics.

• Implement necessary website improvements as required.

• Facilitate the transition of website maintenance responsibilities to government personnel upon the conclusion of the task order.

• Create documentation, conduct knowledge transfer sessions, and prepare handoff materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in web development, including the design, development, and maintenance of SharePoint and web-based platforms.

• A BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related discipline is required; 3 additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

• A BA/BS degree can be substituted with a total of 7 years of relevant experience.

• Previous experience with federal agencies, VA programs, or other government healthcare clients is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with VA digital standards and federal web governance frameworks is advantageous.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential.

• Successful completion of a VA background investigation is required for system access.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

• Proven proficiency in Section 508 accessibility standards.

• Knowledge of web content management best practices.

• Ability to create compliant digital content aligned with the VA Style Guide.

• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Automate and PowerApps, for workflow automation and low-code application development in a federal context.

• Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, SSMS, Azure Data Studio, TOAD, SSIS, and/or SSRS.

• Familiarity with Python scripting for automation, data processing, or web-related tasks.

• Previous experience in supporting knowledge transfer and website transition activities at the conclusion of a federal task order or contract period.

• Understanding of VA or federal health informatics data standards.
