Staff Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design the architecture, quality, and developer experience of product interfaces

• Collaborate with product teams to ensure frontend systems are scalable, reliable, accessible, and efficient

• Spearhead the transition from Svelte to React

• Maintain and enhance the design system in partnership with the frontend guild

• Support frontend projects across teams, focusing on application architecture, performance, testing strategies, developer experience, and reducing technical debt

• Enhance UX and UI quality through design reviews, reusable patterns, mentoring, and technical documentation

• Identify effective applications of agentic tooling and optimize the codebase for collaboration between humans and agents

• Assess frontend architecture, product domains, design system, team workflows, and delivery bottlenecks within the first 30 days

• Present a structured analysis and proposal for a cross-team frontend initiative by day 60

• Drive systemic improvements that yield measurable progress across teams by day 90

• Assist Senior Engineers in their development through collaboration, reviews, and shared ownership

⛳️ Requirements

• Have previously operated at a Staff level, with or without the formal title

• Delivered systemic frontend or product-engineering enhancements across multiple teams

• Possess deep knowledge in modern frontend engineering

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, component architecture, state management, design systems, accessibility, performance, testing, and sustainable application architecture

• Utilize AI coding tools on a daily basis and have experience with agentic workflows

• Have a well-rounded perspective on the utility of AI coding tools and the requirements for agentic work in codebases

• Exhibit product judgment and the capacity to convert ambiguous workflows and business constraints into practical product experiences

• Comfortable reasoning across frontend, backend, APIs, infrastructure, observability, security, and compliance

• Capable of driving cross-team changes through credibility, clear communication, architectural reasoning, and stakeholder alignment

• Able to set technical direction and influence others without formal authority

• Skilled in managing diverse stakeholders and building consensus on challenging technical decisions

• Experience in mentoring engineers

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken
