This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Execute hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) analyses and design for transportation-related projects.
• Create drainage reports that meet both client and industry standards.
• Support the production of plans associated with drainage design, stormwater management, detention systems, water quality/MS4, quantities, and specifications.
• Contribute towards achieving project goals and milestones while monitoring the progress of projects.
• Aid in the preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, reports, construction drawings/plans, specifications, and cost estimates for stormwater design and planning initiatives.
• Ensure the generation of high-quality engineering documentation.
• Comply with internal standards for quality control, documentation, and project tracking.
• Assist in project pursuits.
• Enhance the design efforts of the civil-rail and structural-rail design teams.
• Work collaboratively within a team to deliver water resource projects that support railroad transportation across the country.
• A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
• 12 to 16 years of experience in transportation drainage.
• A PE License is preferred.
• Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, particularly using the rational method and TR-55 design methodologies.
• Familiarity with plan production software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
• Experience using HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, StormCAD, CivilStorm, WMS, SMS/SRH-2D, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox, CUHP, FLO-2D, and Mile High Flood District spreadsheet tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of meeting design budgets and deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Capability to prioritize, manage, and progress multiple projects simultaneously.
• Comprehensive understanding of state, regional, and special district design standards.
• Experience in developing stormwater management plans and water quality design/MS4.
• Knowledge of plan production specific to transportation projects.
• Experience in creating deliverables that adhere to DOT standards and requirements.
