VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nepal.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary related to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Engage in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate a desire to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Follow dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Nepali".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a reputable interpretation company is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous, though not required.

• Understanding of legal terminology is beneficial.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
