This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
β’ Develop and enhance Coaction's proprietary energy underwriting platform, with a primary focus on upstream and midstream risks.
β’ Act as the representative face of Coaction's internal energy expertise.
β’ Oversee and optimize a significant existing delegated partnership.
β’ Propel profitable growth within a strategically important sector.
β’ Formulate and implement disciplined underwriting strategies.
β’ Expand new business opportunities by identifying, evaluating, and launching new Coaction energy offerings.
β’ Direct capacity and limits management initiatives.
β’ Sustain, utilize, and broaden reinsurance and distribution partnerships.
β’ Ensure alignment of growth, risk appetite, pricing, authority, and capacity decisions with corporate goals.
β’ Collaborate with ongoing delegated energy programs to ensure coherence with the wider corporate strategy.
β’ Engage with distribution partners, insured clients, risk managers, and internal stakeholders as necessary.
β’ Senior-level energy underwriting expert with extensive knowledge of upstream and midstream property and casualty risks.
β’ Established credibility with reinsurance and capacity providers, highlighted by a history of profitable underwriting practices.
β’ Strong technical understanding of energy risks, policy structures, pricing strategies, capacity allocation, limits management, and portfolio aggregation.
β’ Innovative thinker capable of leveraging Coaction's strengths to create and develop unique offerings.
β’ Professional presence and authority to represent the company effectively in the market.
β’ Proven expertise in establishing and managing a profitable energy business portfolio.
β’ Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
β’ Comfortable working strategically while being actively involved in underwriting execution and individual risk evaluations.
β’ Extensive knowledge of the US energy insurance landscape, both on a primary and excess basis.
β’ Well-established connections across the US energy insurance market, including retail and wholesale producers as well as domestic and international reinsurance partners.
β’ Highly disciplined and results-driven, with the ability to balance growth with underwriting profitability and to deploy capacity in an opportunistic manner.
β’ Proven record of sustained profitable growth and effective management of renewal portfolios.
β’ Willingness and capability to travel as required.
β’ Active involvement with trends, data, competitive conditions, emerging risks, and loss activity within the energy market.
β’ Proactive in advancing the technology framework through collaboration with technical experts and external software and data providers.
β’ Direct underwriting experience across CGL, Umbrella/Excess, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, and Control of Well policies and/or Energy Package business.
