This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Evaluate Property & Casualty insurance policies, such as Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, General Liability, and GAP Coverage, to identify completion and coverage deficiencies.
• Review loss runs and claims history to propose underwriting terms, conditions, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Complete intake forms for commercial policies and collect underwriting data pertinent to P&C exposures.
• Conduct underwriting discussions with clients to address uninsured or underinsured risks and gather information for actuarial pricing.
• Assess policy renewal details, formulate and underwrite renewal positions, and prepare quote summaries with supporting documents for approval.
• Submit case files for risk analysis and actuarial pricing reporting.
• Scrutinize extensive data and information for precision and completeness.
• Assess client exposures and suggest coverage improvements.
• Distribute underwriting documents to clients that support the recommended eligible coverages.
• Clarify definitions and applications of Oxford’s coverage lines, with a focus on Property & Casualty, Auto, General Liability, and GAP Coverage solutions.
• Collaborate with the Claims Department for underwriting approvals and claims trend evaluations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, underwriting guidelines, regulatory standards, and emerging risks affecting the Property & Casualty insurance sector.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience is necessary.
• At least 2 years of experience in reviewing and underwriting Property & Casualty insurance policies, including Commercial Auto, General Liability, and GAP Coverage programs, as well as servicing claims, is required.
• P&C license or industry designation is preferred.
• Strong background in Property & Casualty, focusing on reviewing policies to ensure complete documentation, identifying coverage gaps, and assessing complex risk exposures.
• Knowledge of underwriting principles related to Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, and GAP Coverage products.
• Experience in analyzing loss runs, claims trends, exposure data, and renewal information to aid underwriting decisions.
• Exceptional communication, administrative, organizational, multitasking, critical-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to work independently and thrive under pressure.
• Skill in handling confidential information with discretion.
• Captive insurance experience is preferred.
