VP, Revenue Cycle Management – Accounts Receivable

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement regional accounts receivable strategies that are consistent with enterprise revenue cycle objectives.

• Support productivity and quality standards while enhancing accountability frameworks and operational protocols.

• Lead efforts to expedite cash flow, decrease aged accounts receivable, and enhance collection efficiency.

• Drive the standardization of processes, automation, and optimization of technology.

• Oversee executive management of government, commercial, and self-pay receivables.

• Track accounts receivable and collection performance metrics, such as AR days, aging, DSO, net collection rate, cash collections, denial rates, underpayment recovery, and inventory backlogs.

• Address and resolve high-risk aging accounts, payer issues, and opportunities for revenue leakage.

• Review regional close readiness and evaluate risks related to monthly cash and revenue performance.

• Guide regional AR directors and managers in meeting productivity, quality, and financial goals.

• Conduct business reviews and performance evaluations.

• Create corrective action plans for regions, teams, or payer portfolios that are underperforming.

• Implement strategies for inventory management and workload balancing.

• Act as the executive liaison to operational leadership regarding AR performance and reimbursement trends.

• Present performance results, risks, and mitigation strategies to executive leadership and stakeholders on a monthly basis.

• Collaborate with operational stakeholders to enhance revenue cycle results.

• Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning related to collections and AR performance.

• Identify opportunities to enhance cash flow and minimize write-offs.

• Ensure the achievement of regional collection targets and financial obligations.

• Maintain compliance with payer regulations, government mandates, and organizational protocols.

• Ensure readiness for audits and adherence to internal controls.

• Monitor reimbursement trends and regulatory changes that impact collections.

• Lead, mentor, and develop AR leadership teams.

• Develop succession plans and talent development strategies.

• Promote employee engagement and initiatives for continuous improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in business administration, healthcare administration, finance, or accounting; a master's degree is preferred.

• At least 7-10 years of progressive management experience within a healthcare revenue cycle services entity generating over $300 million.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in physician healthcare reimbursement.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in anesthesia practice management with a large anesthesia group, ideally in a multi-unit organization with over $100 million in annual revenue.

• Experience managing a team of over 100 healthcare billers and collectors or a similar processing organization, preferably across multiple locations.

• Proven experience in healthcare billing and collections, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and self-pay.

• Strong familiarity with healthcare billing software systems; AthenaIDX is preferred.

• Significant experience with transformation and information technology in a high-volume processing setting.

• Experience integrating platforms into a unified system through acquisitions or new business initiatives.

• Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience are strongly preferred.

• Exceptional communication and business partnership skills.

• Leadership that is focused on metrics and processes, with an emphasis on financial performance, productivity, and patient satisfaction.

• Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing and constantly changing environment.

• Strong financial analysis, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in both verbal and written communication.

• Capable of fulfilling the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
