VP Project Controls, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of cost managers, estimators, and schedulers by assigning tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

• Offer technical direction and mentorship in cost estimating, scheduling methods, and earned value management.

• Conduct performance evaluations and foster the professional growth of team members.

• Oversee the distribution of workload and the allocation of resources across the designated project portfolio.

• Supervise cost estimates, budgets, financial forecasts, expenditures, variances, change orders, cost reports, and value engineering efforts.

• Manage project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 or equivalent software, encompassing critical path analysis, schedule performance, status reporting, and recovery strategies.

• Execute standardized project control processes, templates, tools, and quality standards.

• Compile and present cost and schedule performance reports to project teams and clients.

• Act as the primary client contact for project control issues.

• Collaborate with project managers, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to address cost or schedule challenges.

• Escalate notable cost overruns, schedule delays, and risks while providing recommended solutions.

• Identify and evaluate cost and schedule risks and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Assist with claims analysis and dispute resolution through cost and schedule documentation and analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in project controls, cost management, estimating, or scheduling roles.

• 2-3 years of direct management experience overseeing project controls professionals.

• Advanced expertise in cost estimating, budgeting, and financial analysis for capital construction projects.

• High proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and cost management tools.

• Strong understanding of earned value management (EVM) principles and their applications.

• Experience with mission-critical or data center projects is preferred.

• Proven ability to manage team workloads and coordinate multiple project assignments.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engagement with team members, project stakeholders, and clients.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
