VP, Partnerships

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement Medha’s fundraising strategy along with annual and long-term resource mobilization plans.

• Identify avenues for diversifying funding sources and enhancing long-term financial stability.

• Lead high-value discussions, presentations, and negotiations with prospective partners for fundraising.

• Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with current and potential funders and strategic partners.

• Manage the entire partnership lifecycle, from lead generation and proposal development to due diligence, contracting, implementation, renewal, and closure.

• Create engagement plans that provide greater strategic value for Medha and its partners.

• Understand funder priorities and ensure timely fulfillment of commitments.

• Oversee proposals, budgets, reports, presentations, updates, and other documents for funders.

• Ensure that communications with funders are clear, compelling, accurate, and aligned with Medha’s strategy, program evidence, and impact.

• Coordinate responses to funder inquiries, reporting requirements, reviews, and due diligence processes.

• Collaborate with the Communications and Impact teams to develop narratives, evidence, and success stories.

• Translate progress, challenges, outcomes, and opportunities into proposals, funder updates, and renewal discussions.

• Partner with Finance and Programs regarding grant budgets, fund utilization, budget revisions, milestones, reporting, and compliance.

• Coordinate funder visits, reviews, and other high-touch engagements; identify risks or gaps and initiate timely course corrections.

• Lead, coach, and develop the Partnerships team.

• Oversee the fundraising pipeline, including opportunities, renewals, and complex issues with funders.

• Provide funder insights and external viewpoints to inform organizational strategy, growth priorities, and decision-making as a senior leadership team member.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, resource mobilization, philanthropy, CSR, or a closely related field.

• Excellent storytelling and verbal and written communication abilities.

• Substantial experience in managing senior relationships with foundations, corporations, multilaterals, or other institutional funders.

• Proven capability in collaborative people leadership and team development.

• Strong understanding of budgets, grant requirements, fund utilization, and the financial implications of partnerships.

• Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize new funding opportunities to build a diversified pipeline.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

• Willingness to travel extensively to Medha’s operational areas.
