This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee group-wide operational performance and execution for a manufacturer specializing in ambulance and fire apparatus vehicles.
• Create and lead KPI-focused operating systems with real-time dashboards across various programs, functions, and locations.
• Enhance on-time delivery, build cycle times, schedule adherence, cost per unit, gross margin, quality, rework, and warranty/field defect rates.
• Establish structured daily and weekly operational rhythms, ensuring accountability and escalation processes are in place.
• Identify and address performance gaps in custom, low-to-mid volume production settings.
• Facilitate root-cause analysis for delivery, quality, and cost-related issues.
• Collaborate with plant and functional leadership to boost throughput, minimize rework, and stabilize production schedules.
• Align engineering, supply chain, and operations towards common KPIs and program milestones.
• Assist in the launch of new apparatus and customer-specific configurations.
• Enhance coordination between design modifications, material availability, and production timelines.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards.
• Strengthen quality systems while promoting accountability for documentation, testing, and certification processes.
• Standardize operational and program management methodologies across the organization.
• Remove bottlenecks in engineering releases, material flow, and production readiness.
• Improve ERP/MRP and digital tools for real-time tracking of order status, materials, and production progress.
• Contribute to capacity planning and scalability to meet the growing demand for emergency vehicles.
• Support the integration of new product lines or acquisitions.
• Establish repeatable and predictable execution in a highly customized production environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field.
• MBA is preferred.
• 12–15+ years of leadership experience in specialty vehicle manufacturing, including fire apparatus and ambulances, or similar build-to-order environments.
• Proven history of achieving measurable improvements in cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
• Experience overseeing operations in highly customized, compliance-oriented production settings.
• Strong expertise in KPI systems, performance management, and cross-functional leadership.
• Familiarity with engineering and supply chain processes.
