VP of Technical Project Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of delivery results across various technology initiatives, defining the scope and order for teams and projects.

• Collaborate with engineering and business leaders to determine team priorities, sequencing, and resource allocation.

• Tackle complex and unclear delivery challenges involving inter-team dependencies, resource conflicts, and competing priorities.

• Develop sustainable intake and prioritization processes across engineering, data, and business teams.

• Contribute to shaping the technology project management framework, including tools, templates, and delivery standards.

• Identify systemic gaps in processes or vendor relationships and collaborate with the team to resolve them.

• Supply executive leadership with proactive insights into progress, risks, and trade-offs.

• Cultivate trusted relationships with senior and executive stakeholders.

• Facilitate discussions that bridge technical and business perspectives at a strategic level.

• Directly lead complex or high-visibility initiatives.

• Provide informal mentorship and coaching to team members without formal management duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of project management experience, including building or enhancing a project management function.

• Experience in financial services or a similar regulated industry is preferred but not mandatory.

• Proven history of leading cross-functional initiatives with direct responsibility for outcomes, not merely coordination.

• Ability to establish processes and structures from the ground up, making resourcing and prioritization decisions with limited information.

• Experience collaborating with senior and executive stakeholders, including direct reporting at the executive level.

• Strong foundation in Agile and Lean principles, with experience tailoring them to meet a team's specific needs rather than applying them rigidly.
