VP Engineering

📋 Description

• Collaborates with Product Management and other members of Bombora’s executive leadership to establish and achieve organizational objectives while providing expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems.

• Accelerates the delivery of high-quality value to our ecosystem, emphasizing that in today’s landscape, the timing of our deliverables is often as crucial as their content.

• Designs tools and resources for AI effectiveness throughout our workflows in both impactful and ethical manners, enhancing our velocity while upholding quality standards and career progression for our engineers.

• Advances our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies in partnership with Product Management to address the cutting-edge demands of applied AI across our processes.

• Contributes to Bombora’s overarching technology strategy, championing technology initiatives that will enhance business outcomes and long-term enterprise value.

• Maintains technical engagement by actively taking part in reviews, analyses, and addressing issues at both detailed and macro levels.

• Establishes, communicates, and enforces engineering practices and security protocols to guarantee safe and effective operations.

• Cultivates a collaborative work atmosphere that encourages autonomy, transparency, adaptability, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership.

• Motivates and supports our technical personnel while mentoring technical directors and managers.

• Ensures that departmental decisions concerning staffing, development, and organization align with Bombora’s business strategy and vision.

• Effectively manages and communicates departmental goals, priorities, trade-offs, and risks within the department and to other stakeholders.

• Maintains transparency regarding what is functioning well and what requires improvement, employing a metrics-driven approach.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience leading technical teams, preferably in a dynamic, high-growth setting.

• Experience in the ad-tech industry and associated technologies is highly advantageous, as are other business sectors that involve highly scalable data management systems.

• Extensive experience collaborating with Product Management, Go-To-Market, and Success teams to meet comprehensive goals for our customers.

• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and modern development frameworks for software development, data management, testing, DevOps, and security concepts.

• Significant experience in practicing, adapting, and evolving development methodologies to enhance velocity, quality, and team health, rather than merely following someone’s preferred textbook.

• Exceptional communication skills with an emphasis on maximizing individual potential within a highly distributed workforce.

• Experience in organizational development, planning, and budgeting processes.

• Familiarity with technical due diligence and M&A activities is a plus.

• Possesses curiosity, humility, and a sense of humor.
