SAP ABAP Applications Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Act as a team leader or a technical contributor in the planning, design, development, implementation, and support of moderately complex processes, systems, networks, or components within larger systems.

• Guarantee timely and high-quality deliverables while meeting service level objectives.

• Create system specifications, prototypes, and documentation in line with IS standards.

• Collaborate with the Security team to uphold audit controls and procedures that safeguard company resources.

• Establish functional requirements that align with business needs.

• Work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• Occasionally travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team-building events as directed by leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent level of professional experience.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, implementing, or supporting moderately complex information systems or intricate maintenance projects.

• Background in building or supporting mainframe, distributed, or web-based systems.

• Proficiency in structured systems analysis, design, programming, and testing.

• Experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving business or technical issues.

• Ability to monitor tasks, document progress, adapt to project changes, and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with user interaction and facilitation.

• Experience in mainframe, distributed, and/or web-based system design and development.

• Knowledge of database management systems, including IMS DB, DB2, and SQL Server.

• Basic PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office.

• Experience in programming languages such as COBOL II, Java, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, and XML.

• Understanding of online communication technologies, including IMS DC and CICS.

• Proficient with system development tools such as Endevor, IMS Expert, Xpediter, SQA Team Test, VisualAge for Java, WebSphere Studio, IBM Jade, and Eclipse.

• Familiar with operating systems including MVS, Windows, and UNIX.

• Experience in database design.

• Knowledge of local area networks and network communication.

• Understanding of systems operations practices.

• Familiarity with security and control procedures.

• Knowledge of systems development methodologies.

• Ability to assess moderately complex systems and comprehend interdependencies among components.

• Capability to lead teams within a matrix organization.

• Preferred: experience with development methodologies.

• Preferred: knowledge of Joint Application Design (JAD) and Rapid Application Design (RAD) techniques.

• Preferred: experience in database modeling.

• Must be able to pass required background and drug screening.
