Visiting Instructor, Nutrition – Part Time Temp

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized instruction on designated subjects that align with the course curriculum and adhere to best practices.

• Track the progress of an assigned group of learners and proactively provide support at crucial stages of their educational journey.

• Offer expertise in the specified content area while keeping up-to-date with current knowledge.

• Enhance student learning through innovative and effective teaching methodologies.

• Utilize technology-based teaching and communication platforms to facilitate competency development.

• Engage with students in both group and individual settings.

• Collaborate with instructional and program faculty to ensure continuity and quality in student support.

• Partner with university professionals to foster a positive, student-centered environment.

• Execute other assigned duties and responsibilities as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active and unrestricted Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license to practice dietetics-nutrition in Pennsylvania.

• Hold a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics/Nutritional Science, Public Health in Nutrition, or Dietetics Administration from an accredited institution.

• Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in higher education providing instructional support.

• At least 2 years of relevant industry experience is required.

• Availability for afternoon and evening hours, totaling up to 10 hours per week.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 20%, including mandatory attendance at designated company summits.

• Proven ability to tailor instructional support to meet the diverse needs of learners with various educational backgrounds.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar applications, virtual instructional platforms, and student management systems.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to communicate effectively and respectfully across diverse beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.

• Highly organized, conscientious, and detail-oriented.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently to complete tasks.

• Competence in using data to inform decision-making.

• Understanding and commitment to competency-based education within the WGU model.

• Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.

• Primarily work from home within the continental United States and be available for required travel to meetings.
