Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage virtualization platforms based on VMware technology.

• Operate platforms that utilize software-defined networking and software-defined storage.

• Oversee platforms in both on-premises and hybrid cloud settings.

• Collaborate with technologies such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu.

• Conduct automation tasks and manage capacity effectively.

• Handle a substantial VMware environment alongside contemporary cloud-native workloads.

• Diagnose issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Implement disaster recovery strategies and follow SRM practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required.

• At least five years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Profound knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking.

• Strong PowerCLI scripting capabilities and experience with automation tools.

• Knowledge of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.

• Solid understanding of disaster recovery practices and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration projects from VMware to other virtualization platforms is preferred.
