Performance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the lead technical project developer for the Public Sector East team.

• Comprehend customer technical requirements and convert them into precise, actionable solutions.

• Tackle facility utility consumption assessments, implement use- and cost-reduction strategies, oversee capital improvements, and manage community infrastructure projects.

• Formulate technical strategies, project cost estimates, energy-reduction projections, and measurement and verification plans.

• Present findings and solutions to both customers and management.

• Support the delivery team in ensuring seamless installations and outstanding customer outcomes.

• Conduct comprehensive site evaluations to uncover mechanical and operational inefficiencies.

• Evaluate utility bills and financial data.

• Collaborate with contractors to offer innovative, cost-effective, and technically robust solutions.

• Generate written and schematic technical documentation that conveys solutions and associated risks.

• Execute analyses for energy savings, operational efficiencies, life-cycle costs, and feasibility.

• Establish guaranteed savings based on recommended measures.

• Develop financial models aligned with customer specifications and project outcomes.

• Work alongside Account Executives and Project Managers to design and deliver customer proposals.

• Serve as the technical liaison between operations and sales teams.

• Identify and collaborate with subcontractors and consultants for technical evaluations and installation descriptions.

• Approve equipment prior to ordering to guarantee precise estimates and timely delivery.

• Design measurements to confirm energy and operational guarantees.

• Stay updated on technologies, regional regulations, contractors, suppliers, seminars, and conferences.

• Act as a continuous technical resource consultant for customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited Engineering/Technology program or an equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of three (3) to eight (8) years of experience in a construction or energy services-related field.

• Willingness to travel frequently, approximately 25%-50%, including overnight stays.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Professional understanding of energy and plant/facility operations.

• Preferred: Ten (10) years of experience in a construction or energy service-related field.

• Preferred: CEM certification.

• Preferred: CMVP certification.

• Preferred: Any LEED Certification.

• Preferred: NEBB TAB certification.

• Preferred: Any ASHRAE Certification.

• Preferred: Professional License (PE).

• Preferred: NCESS Record.
