Virtual Teacher, AP Social Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five or more hours each scheduled instructional day.

• Develop an engaging and well-structured virtual classroom environment.

• Utilize student performance data to tailor instruction, identify learning gaps, and modify teaching strategies.

• Offer timely and constructive feedback on student assignments.

• Keep accurate records to ensure that students and families stay informed and on track.

• Foster relationships with students and families through professional and proactive communication.

• Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality support to students.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline.

• Active state teaching license with an endorsement in Social Science for grades 6-12.

• Experience in teaching within virtual and/or in-person environments.

• Comfort with the distinctive demands of a live online classroom setting.

• Confidence and engagement when presenting on camera.

• Capability to teach live for five or more consecutive hours each instructional day.

• Practical experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.

• Ability to analyze student performance data and leverage it to adjust live instruction.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills and self-direction, with effective time management to independently handle a full student caseload in a remote setting.

• Commitment to professional development, maintaining certification, and staying updated on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.

• Integrity, warmth, and a belief that every student is capable of success.

• Openness to take on evolving responsibilities in response to business needs.

• Experience teaching Advanced Placement courses is preferred.
