Virtual Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization infrastructures.

• Develop platforms for software-defined networking and software-defined storage.

• Provide support for both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.

• Utilize vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu in daily operations.

• Automate the operation of platforms and oversee capacity management.

• Manage enterprise-scale VMware ecosystems alongside modern cloud-native applications.

• Exercise practical judgment in navigating the evolving VMware product landscape.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Establish and maintain disaster recovery strategies and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of five years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Hands-on experience with vSAN and management of storage policies.

• Proficient in NSX-T or NSX-V networking.

• Strong scripting abilities in PowerCLI and familiarity with automation tools.

• Understanding of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container technologies.

• Solid grasp of disaster recovery methods and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

• Eligible to work in the U.S. as a U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder, EAD Holder, or a suitable H-1B transfer candidate.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is a plus.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is advantageous.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is desirable.

• Exposure to migration initiatives from VMware to other virtualization platforms is a bonus.
