DevOps Automation Engineer – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, maintain, and enhance CI/CD platforms and their supporting infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Review and revise application and infrastructure designs to guarantee scalability, security, performance, and operational efficiency.

• Develop, sustain, and improve container platforms utilizing Kubernetes technologies, including Azure and Rancher/RKE2 environments.

• Create reusable CI/CD pipelines, templates, and automation solutions for delivering applications and infrastructure.

• Generate and uphold automation scripts to facilitate build, release, deployment, and platform operations processes.

• Package and deploy applications using Helm charts and Kubernetes-native deployment methods.

• Ensure that deployment processes are repeatable, reliable, and maintainable across development and operational environments.

• Administer, maintain, and upgrade components of the CI/CD platform, including application servers and build agents.

• Provide technical support and guidance to development teams regarding the usage of CI/CD platforms and deployment processes.

• Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer activities focused on CI/CD tools, DevOps practices, and platform capabilities.

• Collect, analyze, and report on platform metrics, including cycle time, time-to-value, uptime, error rates, and CI/CD platform usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant IT professional experience with CI/CD platforms.

• At least 3 years of experience in Azure DevOps Server administration.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience deploying applications in Kubernetes environments.

• A minimum educational qualification of a Level 6 degree (Bachelor's).

• At least one certification among: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or an equivalent, internationally recognized certification.

• Expert-level knowledge of Azure DevOps Server and Azure DevOps Services administration.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline design, configuration, and automation practices.

• Comprehensive knowledge of DevOps principles and best practices, including automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, feedback loops, and fail-fast methodologies.

• In-depth knowledge of application containerization, packaging, and deployment on Kubernetes clusters, including Helm charts, operators, and deployment pipelines.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies, such as Terraform or Puppet.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills in English, along with strong collaboration and documentation capabilities.
