This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile, +6 more countries.
• Oversee personal injury cases from the initial client intake stage through to settlement or resolution.
• Keep attorneys and the legal team updated on significant case developments.
• Compose correspondence, emails, and legal documents.
• Organize settlement documentation and assist with case closure activities.
• Calculate and document firm expenses as cases near settlement.
• Maintain records of outstanding liens and related communications.
• Acquire supporting information and documentation from clients and third parties.
• Collect documents and information necessary for discovery responses.
• Assist attorneys in preparing and responding to discovery requests.
• Review and organize medical records while identifying pertinent information.
• File and manage no-fault and liability insurance claims.
• Follow up with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, courts, and other involved parties.
• Monitor discovery deadlines and outstanding items.
• Prepare Bills of Particulars, Uniform Interrogatories, Demands for Production of Documents, Combined Demands, and other discovery requests and responses.
• Track clients’ medical treatments and appointments.
• Request medical records, medical bills, lien information, and associated documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of insurance communications and claim activities.
• Prepare and submit insurance applications, forms, and supporting documentation.
• Engage with clients in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Support client intake and onboarding processes.
• Provide litigation and case preparation assistance to attorneys.
• Identify gaps or inconsistencies in medical documentation.
• Monitor treatment progress and follow up on records, bills, and documentation.
• Assist clients in scheduling and coordinating medical appointments.
• Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status, documentation, unpaid medical bills, denied bills, and coverage issues.
• Identify missing information and incomplete case tasks, conducting proactive follow-ups.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and organized electronic case files.
• Perform additional paralegal, legal administrative, and case support duties as assigned.
• Prior experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Case Manager, or a similar role in a personal injury law firm is mandatory.
• Proven experience supporting personal injury cases from intake through to settlement or resolution is essential.
• Familiarity with medical records, medical bills, medical documentation, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers is required.
• Knowledge of no-fault claims, liability claims, discovery, and litigation documents is necessary.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
• Experience with New York personal injury law, litigation, discovery, and insurance procedures is preferred.
• Background in supporting cases involving motor vehicle accidents, pedestrian accidents, construction accidents, premises liability, or other negligence claims is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing confidential legal, medical, and client information with professionalism.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, time management, accuracy, dependability, proactive follow-through, independent problem-solving, professional judgment, adaptability, empathetic communication, collaboration, and proficiency in remote work are required.
