Virtual Medical Receptionist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Accurately and efficiently coordinate and schedule patient appointments

• Handle appointment confirmations, rescheduling, and cancellations

• Maintain and optimize provider schedules for appointment availability

• Process requests for medication prior authorization

• Communicate with insurance companies, pharmacies, providers, and patients regarding the status of authorizations

• Follow up on any outstanding authorization requests

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits before appointments

• Accurately document insurance information within the EMR system

• Identify and convey any coverage limitations or issues

• Receive, process, and track incoming and outgoing patient referrals

• Coordinate with referring providers, specialists, and insurance companies

• Ensure that referral documentation is complete, accurate, and properly attached to patient records

• Follow up on pending referrals to ensure continuity of care

• Answer inbound calls in a professional and courteous manner

• Respond to patient inquiries, appointment requests, and administrative issues

• Provide excellent customer service while managing a high call volume clinic environment

• Capability to work independently while upholding professionalism and accountability

• Comfortable managing high call volumes alongside multiple administrative responsibilities

• At least 1 year of experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant supporting a US-based clinic

• Experience with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communication

• Familiarity with healthcare workflows, medical terminology, and EMR systems

• Preferred experience in managing referrals and coordinating patient care

• Preferred experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW)

• Previous experience supporting a Neurology practice is preferred

• Preferred experience in a busy clinic environment with high patient and call volumes
