Virtual Medical Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Act as the initial point of contact for patients during the telehealth intake process.

• Gather and accurately record patient demographics, medical history, previous surgeries, current diagnoses, allergies, and medication lists.

• Assess patient information for completeness and precision prior to the consultation.

• Exhibit a strong understanding of medical terminology, diagnoses, and commonly prescribed medications.

• Input patient data into the medical documentation system with accuracy.

• Prepare and organize patient records before connecting them with the physician.

• Facilitate the transition of patients to the physician for virtual consultations.

• Maintain thorough and confidential medical documentation while adhering to privacy regulations.

• Communicate with patients in a professional and empathetic manner throughout the intake process.

• Keep current with U.S. healthcare terminology, medical practices, and documentation standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Background as Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), medical students, physicians in training, or other healthcare professionals with a solid medical foundation.

• Strong comprehension of U.S. medical terminology, diagnoses, anatomy, and commonly used medications.

• Ability to identify standard treatments and medications linked to various medical conditions.

• Experience in reviewing and documenting patient medical histories is highly desirable.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

• Compassionate and patient-centered approach.

• Capability to work independently while effectively managing multiple patient intakes.

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems is an advantage.

• Proficient communication skills in both English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

• High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

• Strong interpersonal abilities and effective communication with patients and healthcare providers.

• Work schedule: Monday through Friday.

• Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (EST).
