Virtual Medical Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary point of contact for patient care

• Undertake administrative tasks in conjunction with patient care

• Evaluate symptoms and record vital signs

• Administer medications and vaccines

• Conduct phlebotomy and gather specimens

• Perform diagnostic screening tests

• Clean and sterilize equipment

• Keep examination rooms well-maintained

• Record information in the electronic medical records system

• Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with active certification

• Operate within established policies, procedures, expectations, and quality standards

• Occasionally travel to Humana offices for training or meetings

⛳️ Requirements

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program OR Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant OR a minimum of 5 years of experience with Provider approval

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

• Medical Assistant Certification or Registration is mandatory for candidates in Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina

• Preferred experience in phlebotomy

• Preferred experience in medication/vaccine administration

• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience is preferred

• Experience in Value-based Care, including knowledge of HEDIS, Certified Phlebotomy Technician/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience is preferred

• Bilingual in English and Spanish; must successfully pass a proficiency exam for foreign language communication

• Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload

• Work from a dedicated space that is free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI / HIPAA information
