Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and provide support for virtual desktop and secure remote access services, including environments utilizing Zscaler and ShareFile.

• Establish and enforce multi-factor authentication protocols using Microsoft MFA and smartcards, adhering to FIPS 140-2 Level 3 standards or relevant governmental requirements.

• Examine network traffic and investigate performance concerns to ensure reliable and secure remote connectivity.

• Assist in enhancing remote access architecture, system upgrades, high-availability design, and operational resilience.

• Install and maintain necessary security agents within the CDC remote access framework.

• Conduct audits to verify that required security agents are installed, functioning correctly, and compliant with CDC security policies.

• Assess customer-reported vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation efforts, and implement patches, configuration modifications, or other protective measures.

• Collaborate with CDC IT security teams, report on remediation progress, and document security findings and corrective actions.

• Facilitate reporting, analytics, monitoring, and alerting across Remote Access Services.

• Engage in scheduled maintenance and emergency support activities outside of normal team coverage hours as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-6 years of relevant experience in administering virtual desktop infrastructure or enterprise remote access services.

• Experience in supporting secure remote access technologies and related access-control operations.

• Practical experience with Microsoft multi-factor authentication, smartcard authentication, and applicable federal authentication standards.

• Proficient in analyzing network traffic, diagnosing performance issues, and supporting high-availability environments.

• Experience in installing, auditing, and troubleshooting security agents.

• Proven track record in prioritizing and addressing vulnerabilities through patching, configuration adjustments, and documented security processes.

• Willingness to support scheduled and emergency after-hours maintenance when required.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting remote access services that utilize Zscaler and ShareFile.

• Preferred: Experience with security monitoring, reporting, and architecture modernization within a large government or enterprise setting.
