This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Provide accounting, administrative, and operational assistance for a developing video game studio.
• Present financial reports and recommendations to management.
• Create and deliver financial forecasts.
• Monitor and report on the ROI of marketing campaigns.
• Collaborate with external CPAs to ensure tax compliance.
• Oversee registrations and filings with state and provincial governments.
• Manage vendor relationships as well as billing and payment processes.
• Handle categorization in QuickBooks and perform bank reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts for funding discrepancies and irregularities.
• Process sales, use, and property taxes.
• Validate timesheets and manage accruals for vacation and sick leave.
• Synchronize PTO between timesheet and payroll systems.
• Process expense reports and reimbursements.
• Administer enrollments, deductions, and payments for 401(k) and health insurance.
• Reconcile payroll benefit deductions with actual benefit payments.
• Maintain current insurance coverage.
• Ensure team members and vendors receive necessary tax forms such as W-2, 1099, and T4.
• Collect, analyze, and report market data.
• Assist in organizing and managing marketing events.
• Maintain contractor agreements.
• Manage external testers.
• Prepare and facilitate performance evaluations.
• Oversee eLearning and training compliance.
• Coordinate time-off requests, scheduling, and payroll processes.
• Plan travel arrangements.
• Pre-screen applicants and arrange interviews and follow-up communications.
• Lead initiatives and meetings, including preparing agendas and following up on action items.
• Participate in internal game testing and provide feedback as necessary.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a small business accounting and administrative role.
• Knowledge of government filing and tax regulations.
• Familiarity with employment and payroll laws.
• A passion for video games and an understanding of the video game industry.
• Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
• Strong problem-solving abilities; resourceful and capable of finding independent solutions.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work efficiently or meticulously as required.
• Strong self-discipline, motivation, and initiative.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
• Capability to work remotely utilizing collaboration tools.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• A desire to learn new tools and technologies.
• Candidates must have authorization to work in the USA.
• H-1B transfers and sponsorships are not available.
• Residing in King County is an advantage.
• Experience with international accounting is a plus.
• Proficiency in a foreign language is a bonus.
